Experience Berlin—a city of incredible beauty and intrigue—with your very own private guide. You’ll visit all of Berlin's important sites including Checkpoint Charlie, the name given by the Western allies for the best known Berlin Wall crossing point. Admire Berlin's fine classical 18th century architecture, witness where Churchill, Truman and Stalin met in 1945, and tour Frederick the Great’s exquisite Sanssouci Palace at Potsdam. You'll enjoy dinner at the roof-top restaurant of the Reichstag, visit the Pergamon and Altes Museums of Classical Antiquities and the Gemäldegalerie of world-famous art, not to mention a visit to the famous Rausch Schokoladenhaus Café for delicious, handmade mini tortes, truffles and desserts, prepared daily since 1918. 

Day 1: Berlin

Arrive Berlin Airport where you will be met by your private chauffeur-guide who will assist with your luggage. Continue by car to to the elegant 5-star Hotel Regent, situated on Gendarmenmarkt, a square of fine classical 18th century architecture in downtown Berlin. After some time to settle into your accommodation, enjoy a visit with your private guide to the Rausch Schokoladenhaus Café for an introduction to the tour. The Rausch family first started making chocolate in the city in 1918 and the beautiful café is synonymous with Berlin.

 

Day 2: Berlin  
Today, enjoy a walking tour of Berlin with your private guide (the tour includes an occasional use of public transport; your guide will be with you). Visit Checkpoint Charlie, the name given by the Western allies for the best known Berlin Wall crossing point, and the narrow cobbled streets of Nicholas’ Quarter. Admire the Greek Revival architecture of German architect, Schinkel, the elegant Unter den Linden boulevard conceived by Frederick William, the iconic Brandenburg Gate, and the Holocaust Memorial, a memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, designed by architect Peter Eisenman. 

Day 3: Potsdam
Today, enjoy a whole-day excursion to Germany’s “Versailles” at Potsdam, where master builders and artists created an astounding ensemble of palaces, parks and gardens over the course of three centuries. Admire Frederick the Great’s exquisite Sanssouci Palace and visit the newly renovated New Palace. Visit Cecilienhof, where Churchill, Truman and Stalin gathered in 1945 to decide how to administer Germany. Return to Berlin by the Glienicke Bridge, scene of Cold War spy exchanges, and the Allied Museum in the former Outpost Cinema of the former American sector of postwar Berlin.

Day 4: Berlin

Continue your walking tour of Berlin with your private guide. Visit the Jewish (Holocaust) Museum by American architect Daniel Libeskind. This afternoon, explore Berlin’s world-famous museums, such as the Old National Gallery (French Impressionists), Pergamon and Altes Museums (Classical antiquities), Bode Museum (sculpture, Byzantine art) and the Gemäldegalerie (Botticelli, Titian, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Dürer).

 

Day 5: Transfer to the airport or extend your stay

Generally considered to be the most beautiful square in the city, it is home to French and German Churches, and the Concert Hall. You'll discover Berlin's major sights such as Friedrichstrasse, Unter den Linden, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and the UNESCO-heritage Museum Island—all within a 10-minute walk. In the center of the square stands a statue of Germany's renowned poet Friedrich Schiller. All rooms are air conditioned, generous in size and our prices are based on superior rooms.
